Interview with Dell Netbook Contest Winner

Thursday, March 04, 2010 by IMC

Interview with Kevin of Lantech in Louisville, KY - The winner of IMC's New Website Dell Netbook Contest!

  •  How do you feel about being the winner of the 2010 New IMC Corporation Website Dell Contest?

I am still taken by surprise.

  • What do you think of our new website?

I like the aerial view of your buildings with roll over icons representing your  different deparments.  I thought that was a novel idea. I've been around IMC for 5 or 6 years now and have visited the plants in Indianapolis, so I was already aware of your advantages.  I have seen the result of your efforts during your tenure as one of our suppliers.

  • What results?

Our first experience with IMC parts involved a settling in period, but once the parts started flowing we had little incidence of defects.  The result was better than with any of our other suppliers.

  • What is your impression of IMC?

I was impressed when I visited the IMC plants.  The plants were organized and had a lot of capabilities.  Their forming performance is impressive.  Nice square corners.

  • Would you recommend IMC to other manufacturers?

Yes, IMC is customer friendly, easy to work with and responsive to concerns and problems of their customers.

  Congratulations Kevin!

A Message from Operations Manager, Dan Self

Monday, February 15, 2010 by IMC

As we start 2010, one of our goals in the shop will be to improve communication. For us to be successful in today's economy communication is a key. Our customers expect quick lead times with lower cost. Our challenge is to meet these expectations. We must communicate between departments more efficiently. An example would be if you have a completed job in your area that needs to ship today, notify the next department that it is ready for them. This communication will make a definite impact by improving processing time.  Always remember to ask questions rather than assume what is needed.  We will be focusing on process improvements as well. I challenge each of you to always be thinking of opportunities to improve our processes. Be mindful that even small improvements make a difference. Please submit all process improvement ideas to your supervisor or myself. All suggestions will be evaluated.  You will be involved in the process evaluation and receive feedback on your ideas. The intranet website will be used to log all suggestions. I am proud of the efforts we, as a group, have made this past year. We are stronger today than we were a year ago. As we move forward, lets work smarter and more efficiently. This will separate us from our competition.
